Different Translation will make $5.00 tickets available to East Village residents to all performances of their workshop production of David Stallings' The Baby Monitor, a crucial new play about same-sex parenting and family values in today's America. The Neighborhood Rush tickets will be available 15 minutes before showtime at the box office to residents of zip codes 10003 and 10009 with valid local ID. Neighbor Rush tickets are cash-only and subject to availability. The Baby Monitor will play November 29th through December 16th, 2018 at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003).

"We want to give back to the neighborhood we have called home throughout this workshop process. A neighborhood rich in culture, activism, and diversity. As soon as we approached our partners, The Theater at the 14th Street Y -who are fully dedicated to creating an inclusive, and vibrant community- they jumped at the chance to help us with this initiative." Shares director Antonio Miniño.

A finalist for the 2014 National New Play Network, The Baby Monitor was developed in Hollywood at The Blank Theatre's Living Room Series; in New York at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's Playwrights for A Cause, The Duo Multicultural Arts Center's Pride Week Festival, and Original Binding Productions' Naked Theater Festival.

Tolerance Is Not Acceptance. When Claire's concerns over the welfare of her two-year-old cousin are dangerously validated, she begins to question the family's principals and ability to parent. A crucial new play exploring same-sex parenting and cis family values in today's America.

The production features Leo Goodman, Mel House*, Amanda Jones*, Hector Matias, Greta Quispe*, and David Stallings. With lighting design by Kia Rogers, sound design by Jacob Subotnick, and assistant direction by Ty Autry. The production stage manager is Rachel Denise April, and Ann Marie Yali is the associate producer.

The Baby Monitor plays the following regular schedule through Dec 16, 2018:

Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 P.M.

Sundays at 5:00 P.M.
