THE ASTRONAUT LOVE SHOW is a fast paced, darkly comedic original musical that tells three infamous "love stories" ripped from the headlines: a diaper-donning astronaut, a humble gay German cannibal and a Mormon-kidnapping/dog-cloning beauty queen!
Through an original 70s inspired score, this cosmically explosive musical explores themes of loneliness and obsession in a world where technology gives us a fast track to act upon our deepest desires.
Let Tony Award winner LENA HALL introduce you to some of the songs from The Astronaut Love Show: "Constellation Man" sung by Lena Hall, Chris Hall and Katie McCreary and "If You Die in Space" sung by Lena Hall.
The production stars Amber Martin (celebrated NYC performance artist and vocalist, one of the New Yorker's 2010 top performers) as Leslie Starvak, Mark Rinzel (Singer in 80's tribute band Jessie's Girl, and New York's Finest, a Police tribute band) as Arvin Meissner, Samantha Stoltzfus as June Bernice McNealy, Nick DeMatteo in multiple roles, Injoy Fountain in multiple roles, and Ross McCorkell as Astronaut Bobby Olofsson, the cannibalized Berndt Brockhaus and Mormon missionary Kip Swanson.
The production features projection and production design by Dean A. Denmon, costume design by Ashley Soliman, sound design by Eben Mannes, and lighting design and stage management by Blake Kile. Bob Kale (Bedbugs!!!) is the casting director.
