The Magic Pot: Three Tales from China is an original musical for kids, performed by kids, about a young girl who finds herself in the middle of ancient tales, and her own extraordinary adventure, that teach her about life, honesty, and true happiness. It is a first-time co-commission with the SteppingStone Theater in St. Paul, MN after Nina Trevens met SteppingStone Theatre's Artistic Director Richard Hitcher at a conference in 2008. Integral to the development of this a new piece of theater, and a main purpose of this collaboration, is the Youth Theater Exchange Project wherein 19 members of TADA!'s The Magic Pot cast travelled to St. Paul, MN to see SteppingStone's production. Similarly, the young actors from SteppingStone's production will come to New York during TADA!'s production. Says Trevens, "This will be such a unique opportunity for TADA! Ensemble Members, as most of them have not been to the mid-west. They will meet and experience the lives of kids from a very different part of the country who are actually very similar to them due to their shared passion for theater.."

ABOUT TADA! PRODUCTIONS:
TADA!'s original productions employ professional directors, choreographers and designers who work with a multi-ethnic cast of NYC children (ages 8-18) who are members of the TADA! Resident Youth Ensemble, TADA!'s FREE Pre-Professional Training and Youth Development Program, that empowers children and teens from New York City and neighboring suburbs through theater training and performance opportunities, as well as youth development activities. Children are invited to join the Ensemble through an audition process that determines talent, skill and interest, but no previous experience is necessary. TADA!'s productions lauded by critics around the country including
New York Magazine who said, "Since these young actors are a millisecond away from going pro, this is a good time to take a gander at stars on their way up."
