 T. SCHREIBER STUDIO is pleased to announce their double-bill production of THE ACTOR'S NIGHTMARE and THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND, directed by Peter Jensen. THE ACTOR'S NIGHTMARE and THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND will play a 6-week limited engagement at the Gloria Maddox Theater at T. Schreiber Studio (151 West 26th Street, 7th Floor). Performances begin Thursday, May 8th and continue through Sunday, June 15th.

One man's dream is another man's Nightmare....and in The Actor's Nightmare, George Spelvin certainly gets the wrong end of that bargain. Playwright Christopher Durang thrusts his anxious accountant on the stage to replace an ailing actor, but George has no knowledge of the lines or even the name of the play - is it a Noel Coward comedy? Shakespeare's Hamlet? As Sir Thomas More's all-too-real executioner approaches, George hopes against hope that it's only a dream!

On the silver side of the dream sit Moon and Birdboot, two theatre critics in The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard, who aspire to live out their dreams of fame and sexual prowess. As the hilarious Agatha Christie-style play-within-the play begins, the two critics place their focus on the cliché-sodden country style mystery. Eventually their own personal obsessions take over and they find themselves onstage and deeply involved as the murderer's identity is revealed. As the story takes its hilarious twists and turns, our intrepid critics might find their dream closer to a nightmare than originally thought!

The production features scenic design by George Allison (IT Award Recipient for his work on T. Schreiber's Picasso at the Lapin Agile), costume design by Anne Wingate, technical direction by Rohit Kapoor, and lighting design by Andrea Buccanfuso (also nominated for an IT Award for Picasso). Chris Rummel is the sound designer, Jaclyn Bouton is the stage manager, Masami Kanda is the Props Mistress, Gillian Riley and Shawn Wilson are the Assistant Directors.

THE ACTOR'S NIGHTMARE and THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND plays the following regular schedule through Sunday, June 15th:
Thursdays at 8 p.m. Fridays at 8 p.m. Saturdays at 8 p.m. Sundays at 3 p.m.
