The Summer Play Festival has announced casting and schedules for the second week of its fourth annual event at Theatre Row (410 W 42nd St in New York City).
The line-up is as follows:
Cipher by Cory Hinkle, directed by Kip Fagan
"In a secret location, two clerks monitor the thoughts of suspected terrorists. When their assignment gets tough, they begin to ask questions—which is a dangerous thing to do."
The cast includes: Alyssa Bresnahan, Adam Driver, Haskell King and Mandy Siegfried.
It will play The Clurman Theatre: July 17th at 7:00pm, July 18th at 8:00pm, July 19th at 7:30 pm, July 20th at 7:30 pm , July 21st at 2:30 pm and 7:30pm and July 22nd at 2:30 pm.
The Gabriels by Van Badham, directed by Rebecca Patterson
"Over Easter weekend an unconventional family awaits the arrival of their children. The reunion makes for a surprising holiday as bridges are burned and rebuilt and all face beliefs very different from their own."
The cast includes: Danton Stone, Anthony Newfield, Phyllis Johnson, Helen Coxe, Keith Eric Chappelle, Christen Simon and Karen Berthel.
It will play The Beckett Theatre: July 17th at 7:00 pm, July 18th at 7:00 pm, July 19th at 6:30 pm, July 20th at 6:30 pm, July 21st at 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm and July 22nd at 1:30 pm.
Half of Plenty by Lisa Dillman, directed by Meredith McDonough
Holly and Marty move to their dream home and meet the seemingly friendly Zooks. But when a suspicious family moves into the neighborhood, the Zooks convince Marty to take matters into his own hands.
The cast includes: Bill Buell, Ian Brennan, Elizabeth Canavan, Alexis McGuinness and Sidney Williams.
It will play The Lion Theatre: July 17th at 7:00 pm, July 18th at 2:00 pm, July 19th at 8:00 pm, July 20th at 8:00 pm, July 21st at 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm, and July 22nd at 3:00 pm.
Novel by Anna Ziegler, directed by Michael Goldfried
"A widowed non-fiction writer attends a conference expecting the usual. But when he discovers a group of world record holders, his stalled imagination is sparked. Comic and personal, Novel grapples with grief, guilt and the fictions we create."
The cast includes: Annie McNamara, Jeff Biehl, Chris Henry Coffey, Natalia Payne, Randall Newsome, Keith Perry, Rebecca Schull, Jay Russell and Dan McCabe.
It will play The Kirk Theatre: July 17th at 7:00 pm, July 18th at 7:30 pm, July 19th at 7:00 pm, July 20th at 7:00 pm, July 21st at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm and July 22nd at 2:00 pm.
Under founder Arielle Tepper Madover (Broadway's Frost/Nixon, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Pillowman, A Raisin in The Sun, and Freak), The non-profit organization The Living Room for Artists Inc./Summer Play Festival provides emerging writers, directors, designers and producers an opportunity to work on their material and their craft in a protected environment, guided by established professionals at no cost to them. The festival takes place throughout the month of July at Theatre Row on 42nd Street. Tickets to all SPF shows are $10 each.
