Casting is set for the upcoming production of Number the Stars, at the 13th Street Theatre, which will play a one-night engagement on August 22 at 7pm.
Carly Gendell (School of Rock on Broadway), will take on the role of Annemarie Johansen, a brave ten year old whose family is faced with an ethical dilemma as Nazis in Denmark begin rounding up Jews for the "final solution." Annemarie's best friend, Ellen, who is Jewish, is left to find a way to evade the soldiers without sacrificing her family's safety. Ruby Griffin (Paper Mill's Annie) will play the role of Ellen.
The cast will also include Isabelle Ballard as Kirstie Johansen. Larissa Kruesi (Berkshire Theatre Festival) as Mrs. Johansen, and Ryan Knight as Peter Nielsen (Sydney Fringe Festival).
Rounding out the company are Ethan Anidjar, Emily Brennan, Madelyn Barkocy, Hugo Donath, Hunter Powers Middleton and Danny Newman.
Number the Stars will be produced by Shining Star Players, a New Jersey/NYC Theatre company. Directed by Alec Feinsot, Number the Stars marks Shining Star Players' 4th production and second summer at the 13th Street Theatre.Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on July 9 at 10AM.
