BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest operating performance venue in lower Manhattan, presents Judy Blume's Otherwise Known As Sheila The Great, in conjunction with ArtsPower, today, November 15 at 1:30PM. ...Sheila The Great is part of BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center's 2014-2015 Family Theater Season, featuring plays, musicals, puppetry, concerts and dance for all ages.

Being a 10 year-old kid is kind of a pain. Having an older sister is really a pain. Being afraid of everything is ... well, just plain painful! Sheila Tubman, otherwise known as Sheila the Great, comes of age in ArtsPower's lively and poignant musical about discovering the person within. Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great is ArtsPower's first adaptation of a book written by a still-living author. Judy Blume, who since 1981 has been one of America's most celebrated authors of bestselling works for children and adults, consented to work with playwright Greg Gunning on creating the script.
