"Saint Hollywood," the multimedia performance musical co-conceived and written by Willard Morgan and Jerrold Ziman, will end its 11-week run at Ideal Glass, 22 East 2nd Street, on Saturday June 25 at 8pm.
Directed by Jenny Lee Mitchell, "Saint Hollywood" began its run on April 14, and opened on May 26. It will have played a total of 33 performances -- 19 previews and 14 regular performances.Combining installation art, media art and performance, "Saint Hollywood" is a visually and conceptually stunning spectacle celebrating a rich demi-monde of fringe characters in Los Angeles. Morgan, who portrays a number of the real-life eccentrics whom he befriended and videotaped over a ten-year span, as well as a character loosely based on himself, manages to synthesize a remarkable tapestry of today's seedy, kitchy, street (and oddly glamorous) Tinsel Town. The show's cast of four includes the onstage DJ Eunice Wong, and the singer/dancers Shannon Antalan, and Zoe Rosario. The show's production design team consists of Alex Koch and Lucia Jeesun Lee (video design), Anna Kiraly (scenic design), David Tirosh (lighting), and Darlene Ken (installation design). The production's visual artist and muralist responsible for "Saint Hollywood's" striking street art is Ayaka May Komatsu.Videos
