Rising Sun Performance Company (Akia, Founding Artistic Director) announced today that it will present Hotel Suite, an immersive, site-specific 21-day theatrical event at Hostelling International (891 Amsterdam Avenue at 103rd Street) October 11th through November 3, 2012. Hotel Suite will feature the celebrated work of Sam Shepard, FOOL FOR LOVE, and the first Off-Off Broadway production of Tracy Letts' BUG, along with six brand new one-act plays, all set in a hotel room.
Room 128 at the popular Upper West Side hostel is the perfect location for these eight plays, all set in hotels and motels, to unfold after audience members step inside the hotel room where they will be seated among the action. Akia, Rising Sun Performance Company's Founding Artistic Director and Director of BUG, is thrilled to present these traditional plays in such an interactive environment. "Rising Sun Performance Company has planned Hotel Suite for years," she explained. "And, we are excited that this ambitious project is finally coming to life as well as honored to present the inaugural Off-Off Broadway run of Bug."

Founded in September of 2001, RISING SUN PERFORAMNCE COMPANY (RSP) is an Off-Off Broadway theatre company dedicated to producing ensemble-based work.
