The Plays:
Duty Call by Thomas Heine
Rrrr Argh Blech: A Morning Play
by Valerie Work
The Flat Tire of Eros by Meg Schadl
The Some of All Parts by Mrnalini Kamath
The Craving by David L. Williams
These plays take us into some dark territory: what are the responsibilities for the witnesses to a (possible) murder in cyber-space? What happens when our id becomes an anthropomorphic manifestation? Historic documents concerning the Donner party suggest that those who turned to cannibalism became addicted to the ecstasy that comes with devouring human flesh. How far is a couple willing to role play in order to satisfy sexual need? Finally, there are two plays that deal with relationships: one circumstance brings a couple together, with crisp and original banter; the second, a "morning play," considers the absurdity of day-to-day conversation (pen, wallet, watch, keys), and asks us to consider the larger implications of getting up in the morning (that is, the daily battles with time and death).
We hope you enjoy hearing these works as much as we have enjoyed choosing them for you!
