Nu•ance Theatre presents SALVATION, winner of the John DeSotelle Studio 2013 New Play Competition, opening tonight, January 15th, and running through the 30th at DeSotelle Studio and Theater (300 West 43rd Street, 3rd Floor). Directed by Craig Hutchinson, this wickedly funny Dark Comedy will delight audiences (ages 13 and up), delivering an eccentric and comical story about what lies between life and death, forgiveness and blame, doubt and faith and a few million dollars!

SALVATION takes place in the humble and inconspicuous apartment of Jack Grace, the self-proclaimed "greatest bank robber in history". Now, at the end of his crime-filled life, Jack sits dying, attended only by Bartholomew, his browbeaten son who despises him as much as he loves him. Recalling the teachings of a nun in his 2nd grade -- no matter how evil a life he led, he could still go to heaven provided he made a perfect deathbed Confession -- Jack and Bartholomew call for the services of a local priest to gain access to the pearly gates. Enter Father Gallagher, a soul-weary priest, about to encounter the most bizarre confession of his career and Jack's thieving accomplice Tommy, who arrives on the scene in the eleventh hour demanding his cut from the infamous bank job. In the end, do they all unearth their just rewards?

Nu•ance Theatre welcomes back to the stage three company members in this original comedy! Sinner-extraordinaire Jack Grace is played by Richard Fiske* (Waiting for Lefty and Raft of the Medusa), Michael Citriniti* as the faith-shaken Father Gallagher (Awake & Sing!), Scott Brieden, the Broken-Spirited Son Bartholomew (How I Learned to Drive) and introducing Ben Cole* as the notorious Tommy.

Craig Hutchison (Director) has directed countless shows from New York to New Mexico. Among those shows have been Faust, Sakuntala, Follies, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Taming of the Shrew, Wizard of Oz, Murder on the Nile, Murder in the Cathedral, Cain, Everyman, The Fifth Sun, The Cemetery Club, Anne of the Thousand Days, No Sex Please We're British, Lysistrata, The Ceremony of Innocence, 6 Rms Riv Vu, Dark of the Moon, The Prisoner, Arsenic and Old Lace, Hamlet Unmasked, Midway, Salome Reversed and most recently The Devils. He has taught on the college level in several states and presently teaches in the CUNY system in New York.
