We can all agree Valentine's Day is about love. But what does that even mean? What are we celebrating here? A company of Reckless improvisers attempts to solve the greatest mystery of all: What is love? in a completely interactive, audience immersive performance. Sexy like Sleep No More, but cheap.
The production is directed by Anne Veal and Anders Fors.
Anne Veal is an improviser and theatre artist who just loves playing pretend. In addition to training with Christian Capozzoli at the Reckless Theatre, she studied improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade and the Annoyance. As an actor she has performed in Washington, DC with Signature Theatre, The Kennedy Center, Charter Theatre, Synetic Children's Theatre, and American Century Theatre; in Kentucky with Actors Theatre of Louisville; and in Prague, Chicago, and Montana with her theatre company La Rinascita.
Anders Fors is a Swedish improviser who has been teaching improv in over 10 different countries on 4 continents. He has held workshops and performed at several international festivals of all kinds of styles, recently in Amsterdam, Holland and Wurzburg, Germany. He is known as one of the most prolific performers and teachers in Sweden where he has worked as the Artistic Director for the Gothenburg Improv Theatre, one of the leading improv theatres in Scandinavia, and as a teacher at the Academy of Music and Drama at the top-ranked University of Gothenburg.
Reckless Theatre is New York's Grad School of Improvisational Study. Ranked one of the top five improv Comedy Clubs in NYC by TimeOut New York, Reckless runs riot with our hearts, out of our heads to create live theatre that hopes and dares to stun and astonish. We are actors, comedians, writers and artists. We roister and revel ensemble. Gazetted and ridiculous. We improvise with craft and care and sting and bite. We are wild. We are rowdy. We are reckless.
