Little Miss Fresno Captivates At Producers Club Beginning Nov. 7th Amathis Productions will present Little Miss Fresno by Ara Watson and Mary Gallagher at The Producers Club from November 7th through 9th with two performances daily.

The play features Thaïs Kirby and Mathilde Dehaye. Two anxious mothers meet at a local beauty contest for kids. Ginger, who boasts that her little Amber has been in these sorts of contests since she was three years old, is confident that her daughter's "I Enjoy Being A Girl" song and dance routine will win over judges and brags of already having a bookshelf full of trophies from Amber's achievements. She is smug but supportive towards Doris, a novice at these events who claims that her daughter, Ashley Nicole, just wanted to participate while emphatically denying that she herself is the pushy stage mother type.

Alternately trading compliments and subtle barbs it is clear that each mother is in fierce competition with the other. Although Ginger deftly sizes up the competition while Doris seems concerned that winning may give her daughter an attitude, both of them hold their breath as five little semi-finalists are chosen...with the finals yet to come! Little Miss Fresno is part of a triple bill that became an Off-Broadway hit under the title of Win, Lose, Draw. Jointly written by Ara Watson and Mary Gallagher, it was added to two plays; Final Placement by Ara Watson and Chocolate Cake by Mary Gallagher, that were presented at the acclaimed Actors Theatre of Louisville Humana Festival. Win, Lose, Draw was produced in NYC at the Provincetown Playhouse.

Mathilde Dehaye and Thaïs Kirby formed their new theatre company Amathis Productions from their close bond as participants together in the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute's two year conservatory program from which they recently graduated. Mathilde grew up in Belgium in the town of Liège where she studied improvisation and performed in many plays. She came to New York several years first studying with James Price at the Acting Studio before entering the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She wrote Snow White & The Beast, winner of the annual "Strasberg Works" writing contest, which was tapped for production this past July and played the lead character. Thaïs comes from an artistic Parisian family and studied music before becoming an actress. She performed on stage and in film and television in France before travelling to New York to continue her acting journey.

Little Miss Fresno opens Friday Nov. 7th at the Producers Club (358 West 44th Street). Performances are Fri. & Sat. Nov. 7 & 8 at 7PM & 9PM and Sun. Nov. 9 at 4PM & 6PM. Tickets are $12.
