Rocking Dead is an immersive theatre experience that unfolds at a dance party on the Frying Pan, a boat docked on the Hudson River. Audience members interact with the players in this post-apocalyptic zombie world, in which the Z-virus runs rampant and infected Virals attempt to live alongside uninfected Normals. Together, audience members and performers try to keep the entire boat from "zedding out". Meanwhile, a dance party rages in the hold with happy hour drink specials and DJ DeadMeet spinning electronic and house beats until 9pm.
Playing with Reality creates interactive, immersive theatre that empowers audience members through the process of fearless, ferocious play. In PwR's innovative form of theatre, willing audience members become the lead characters in improvised dramatic stories that they co-create alongside performers.
Under the leadership of Executive Producer Shea Elmore and Artistic Director Jeff Wirth, Playing with Reality has been giving New York audiences free reign to co-create a fictional narrative adventure guided by trained actors since 2010. PwR regularly performs at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City and The Film Society of Lincoln Center.
