Queens based Titan Theatre Company opened it''s final production of it''s Award Winning and Critically Acclaimed second season on Friday April 25th, 2014 with the opening of its highly anticipated adaptation of Shakespeare's Epic KING LEAR. The production, which stars Broadway vet Terry Layman in the title role and is made possible through a generous grant from the Queens Council for the Arts, will runs thru May 11, 2014 at the Queens Theatre, the borough''s premiere performing arts venue, located in beautiful Flushing Meadows Park. BroadwayWorld has photos from the opening night festivities below!

"Our run of this daring production has been a smashing success," said Artistic Director Lenny Banovez. "Audiences have been joining us at Queens Theatre, in beautiful Flushing Meadows Park, to help us celebrate a wonderful production and the closing of an amazing season. Audiences have been moved to their feet following the final black out and we've been fielding nothing but raves and praise for the show. Ticket sales have been higher than ever, and we're humbled and thrilled to have been able to share this very special play with audiences. "

King Lear, which is both an intimate family drama about an aging king and his three daughters and an explosive political drama, marks the final production in Titan''s critically acclaimed, award winning second season - a season that included Titan''s hit-take on A Midsummer Night''s Dream where audiences drew actor roles from a hat at the start of each show. Midsummer will transfer Off-Broadway in Fall 2014.

Titan Theatre Company Artistic Director Lenny Banovez, who previously helmed Titan's hit productions of A Midsummer Night''s Dream, Romeo and Juliet and Henry V, will direct.

Banovez surrounds Terry Layman''s "Lear" with a stellar cast including Titan Company members Brendan Marshall-Rashid (Steppenwolf, Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare) Laura Frye (Virginia Shakespeare, Teatro Franco Parenti) Tristan Colton (Shakespeare Theatre of NJ), Jonathan Matthew Finnegan (Actors Theatre of Louisville, St. Louis Rep) Lloyd Mulvey (Utah Shakespeare, Milwaukee Rep), Jonathan Hicks(Milwaukee Rep, Chicago Shakespeare) and Michael Selkirk (WorkShop Theatre) as well as Titan Alums Brad Makarowski, Susan Maris, R. Scott Williams and Titan newcomers Greg Oliver Bodine, John Phillips, Bailey Seeker, Leah Gabriel, John Patrick Driscoll, Angela Kriese, Jamie Jung, and Nicholas Sotack.

Additional creative team also includes: Scott Frost (Costume Design), Weston Wetzel (Lighting/Sound Design), Jasmine Nicole (Set Design) Jonathan Hicks (Fight Choreography), Jesse Michael Mothershed (Speech & Text), and Matt VanSlyke (Stage Management).
