After a powerful run on the West Coast, winning the Encore! Producers Award at the Hollywood Fringe Festival and getting raves in the Huffington Post as well as a powerful article by Patrick Hickey in ReviewFix, Leigh Curran brings this riveting work to NYC as part of the legendary 13th Street Repertory Playhouse's 2015 season. WHY WATER FALLS concerns a fiction writer who has to write a true story and, in the struggle, is brought face to face with her ambivalence about motherhood and the unexpected consequences she's tries to forget... but her "children" won't let her do so. A smart, funny, thought provoking evening of true fiction that looks at making peace with controversial life choices in a whole new way. Written and performed by Leigh Curran and directed by Mary Pat Gleason.

Leigh will also serve as a guest panelist on Sunday, November 1 @ 4:00 p.m. prior to her own evening performance, for Wisdom Voices: Women in the Theatre ... and Over 50 (Austin Pendleton, moderator, featuring Ms. Curran and Broadway veteran Polly Adams; Emmy-winner Ellen Parker; actress & scholar Heather Rasche; performer & playwright Shellen Lubin; actress & fine artist Leah Friedman; actress, playwright & performance artist Elizabeth Hess; and veteran playwright and producing artists director of the 13th Rep Susan Merson.

Winner: Encore! Producers Award, Hollywood Fringe Festival 2015.
