Happy Guy, LLC presents HANAKO JUNCTION, Roderic Wachovsky's world premiere play about one of Auguste Rodin's famous muses, April 7 through 30, 2011 at Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond St., NYC).

Auguste Rodin was first introduced to the Japanese dancer and actress Hanako, a featured member of Loie Fuller's dance troupe in 1906. Captivated by her beauty and strength, her dramatic renditions in scenes of dying, Rodin was thrilled to have Hanako become one of his model. A fascinating woman, she became a pawn caught between the great artist and the equally imperious Fuller.

HANAKO JUNCTION weaves a turn of the century Parisian tale with another set in contemporary New York City. The play illuminates the impulse to create, the possession of art, and the possession of the artist.

Nadia Gan (SHOTGUN MACBETH, Pan Asian Repertory Theatre) stars as Hanako. The play also features Jonathan Cantor (WHORES, New Jersey Rep), Bill Dante, Elena McGhee ("Louie," CANDIDE at CSC) and Jason Healy.

Directed by Roderic Wachovsky, HANAKO JUNCTION's production team includes Craig Bacon (assistant director/dramaturg), Mark Symczak (scenic design), Carolyn Hoffman (costume design), Joyce Liao (lighting design), Peter Sylvester (audio/visusal and sound design), Amy Stoller (dialect coach), Giovanni Villari (movement director), Shaun B. Wilson (marketing). David Schneider (property master), John Sisson (technical director). Michael Palmer serves as the production stage manager with Jason Healy as the assistant general manager.

The performance schedule is April 7 - 30, 2011, Wednesday through Saturday at 8:00 pm with an additional performance Monday, April 11 at 8:00 pm at the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street, between Bowery and Lafayette, Subway: 6 to Bleecker or F/B/D to Broadway-Lafayette). Tickets are $18 at www.theatermania.com or (212) 352-3101.
