A show about overcoming prejudice and letting go of expectations in order to free ourselves is coming to New York. The show consists of two one-act plays, contemporary/experimental dances, visual arts, and more - directed by Renoly Santiago (Dangerous Minds, Hackers, Con Air). BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in action below!
Prejudice (play 1): "When two roommates who highly dislike each other are forced to spend time together because of a tornado, they find out that they have way more in common than they could have ever imagined."
Ride (play 2): "Off-Broadway. Night time. A Turkish pedicab driver hails a good-looking actress. Not completely unusual, is it? She's got the looks, she's got the part, and she's pursuing her dream. He's a foreigner, he's got a not so glorious job, and he's probably not that wise. Right? Not quite. She's lost and unsatified, while he's grounded and happy. The lesson? He'll tell her. They'll tell you."
Featuring: Fionna Robert (Mad Max, Younger, Donny!) as Samantha, Reza Salazar (Daredevil, The Knick, The Blacklist) as Samuel, Ursula Garcia (Confundida, El Burlador de Sevilla, Twelve Angry Jurors) as Tahira & Mathilde Dehaye (Scenes From The Underground, Rhythm in Me, Little Miss Fresno) as Mary. Choreographed by Katie Kilbourn & Kianna Moye (Borne Dance Company). With dancers Katie Kilbourn, Kianna Moye, Claire Cook, Christine Gilbert, Lauran Spencer (Borne Dance Company).
"Free Your Mind, Free Yourself" opens Thursday Sept. 29th and runs through October 2nd at The Producers Club (358 West 44th Street). Performances are Thur., Fri., Sat., Sun. at 8PM.
