What happens when today's leading political figures are forced to share a stage in front of a live audience with no moderator, no rules, and no limits to their insanity?

Phoenix Theatre Ensemble (PTE) will be presenting the world premiere of the company's newly commissioned work by writer, actor and performer Al Pagano titled Filibusted a curated selection of the verbatim recorded writings, musings and comments of U.S. Presidential candidates and other political public figures. Pagano is a classically trained stage actor, writer and has a burgeoning career in stand-up comedy. Performing with Mr. Pagano will be actress Amy Loughead.

Performances will be at the East Village's Wild Project as part of the company's Winter Rep.

Filibusted shares much in common with today's nationally televised debates, in that it's full of shi---uh, improvisation. It covers today's most crucial (and comical) topics. Plus, it features a middle-aged white dude who talks a lot. Some would call it the American dream...we call it an outrageous night of theatre!
