Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, resident theatre company, now in its eighth season is opening The Toymaker's Apprentice a musical by Kathy Menino and Ellen Mandel on December 10th at the Wild Project, in New York's East Village.
A merry new musical, just in time for the holidays, The Toymaker's Apprentice concerns a toymaker who is hiring a new helper. Many apply, but only two finalists emerge: the President of Corporate Corp., Incorporated's dreadful daughter and the humble daughter of a carpenter. Who will be the next Apprentice? And who will hear, "You're fired!" From the writing and music team - Kathy Menino and Ellen Mandel - whose previous Phoenix Productions include The Emperor's New Clothes, Little Red, Three Pigs and Puss in Boots, comes a hilarious and heartfelt holiday treat the whole family can enjoy together!
