Princess & the Frog, and Princess & the Pea will play every weekend at Galli Theater this January and February. Shows on Saturdays are followed by a one-hour after show workshop for the kids.
PRINCESS & THE FROG
January 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, and 29 at 2 p.m.
“Face it, Breathe it, Do it” is the theme from Galli’s adaptation of Brothers Grimm fairy tale PRINCESS & THE FROG, where kids are encouraged to express their feelings and overcome their fears. Children and adults will be delighted by the silly antics of the princess, the king and a very animated frog. “This play leaves audiences spellbound by the life lessons it reveals,” said Tatjana Maya MD, director of Galli Theater.
PRINCESS & THE PEA
Feb. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26 at 2 p.m.
Princess and the Pea is an uplifting remake of the original Brothers Grimm story about a romantic prince who travels the world to find a true princess to marry. Many fake ones come to impress him but only the royal princess pea test will reveal the truth. Kids are invited to interact with the actors during this musical show.
THE AFTER SHOW WORKSHOP
On Saturdays the play is followed by a one-hour acting workshop for the kids who are encouraged to dress up in costumes, and act out their favorite fairy tale characters. The workshop is followed by a mini performance for the adults. "Galli’s Fairytale Theater is a perfect place to bring your children and make them feel comfortable about the stage, the experience of theater, and maybe even the art of being in it,” said Carol Cain, Managing Editor of NY Metropolista.
