Proceeds from the April 16th performance of Political Subversities will be donated to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. Additional donation opportunities will also be available at thisperformance.

Featured on Huffington Post and Gawker.com, Political Subversities is a darkly funny cabaret that
finds the humorous, the stupid and the downright absurd in today's social and political landscape in
the form of side-splitting sketches, fast and funny monologues and Broadway-worthy songs. Political Subversities seamlessly presents more than 40 sketches and songs in under an hour. With fresh material every week, the show is always riding the edge of the political and cultural moment. Conceived by Tony Nominee and Obie Award winner Elizabeth Swados and written by a cast of actors, writers, singers and sketch comedians.

The Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund was launched by GlobalGiving.org to provide
assistance to a variety of relief organizations. They have already raised over $2 million in donations. This fund has dispersed funds to the International Medical Corps, Save the Children and a number of other organizations. Donations can be made directly at www.globalgiving.org.

Tickets to the 9:30pm performance on April 16th can be purchased at www.thepit-nyc.com or by calling 212-563-7488. The show plays April 16th and every Saturday at the People's Improv Theater (The PIT). The PIT keeps a portion of each performance's ticket sales. 100% of the remainder will be donated to the fund.

POLITICAL SUBVERSITIES is created and performed by a cast of young, vibrant writers and performers including Kim Blanck, Todd Dakotah Briscoe, Jabari Brisport, Andrew R. Butler, Ismael-Enrique Cruz Cordova, nicHi douglas, Matthew Robert Gehring, Emma Tattenbaum-Fine, Shaina K. Taub and Dominique Toney. Swados states, "This crew of Political Subversities is a combination of goofy, edgy, nasty, and bighearted. It's political theater you won't see anywhere else. It is intelligent and has a sensibility that has been developed for almost four years. Enjoy and be offended."

The music video Political Wife was featured on Huffington Post, Gawker and Buzzfeed. The group's growing selection of other YouTube videos including Trapped in a Mountain, The Social Network Uses Blackface, Scientology Song, I Did Not Vote, USA/Afghan Sex Tape, Michelle Obama's Arms, Jewish Man and Touched by the TSA have been shared by thousands of bloggers, Facebook/Twitter users, and political websites.
