Nommo theatre, in association with Firebrand Theory Theater Co., will present the Classical Theatre of Harlem Future Classics Program Selection FORTEEZ BLUNTZ CHICKENHEDZ 'N' UVA NECESSATEEZ, a new play by Bashi Rose, as part of The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC). Jaime Robert Carrillo will direct.  Performances will be at the Theatre at 45 Bleecker Street, and will begin on August 9th and will continue through August 23rd.

FORTEEZ BLUNTZ CHICKENHEDZ 'N' UVA NECESSATEEZ is a play about two homeless poets — father and son — who are burdened yet inspired by the weight of history and their ancestors.  The play follows them as they search for the missing piece of their family, the woman who is a daughter to one and a sister to the other.  Hearing her voice via the spirit world and dreams, they race against time and what they perceive as a profit-driven world to protect the woman they love.  Using poetic language, they cry out to each other and to the world for clarity and understanding.  Original drumbeats and music are integrated into the narrative to highlight the emotional intensity of the story as it unfolds.

FORTEEZ BLUNTZ CHICKENHEDZ 'N' UVA NECESSATEEZ is a two-hander. The cast is Jaymes Jorsling (CTH's production of EMANCIPATION, as well as appearances on the HBO series "The Wire" and other shows) and co-author Mitchell Ferguson (Baltimore Harbor Shakespeare Festival, others).

Jaime Robert Carrillo is an actor and director who has created and produced shows in New York City, Dublin, Winnipeg, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and other regional cities in the U.S.  NYC directing credits include: 365 Days/365 Plays #41 (Classical Theatre of Harlem and Public Theatre); The Ascetic, Queen of Thebes, and Entertainer's Eulogy (Classical Theatre of Harlem Future Classics Program); Hey You, Light Man!, The Dickens, and Audelco Award Nominated Lynch Play (Firebrand Theory Theater Co.); Minneapolis Bride (Creative Place Theater), Don Juan in Hell (feeT oF claY Theater Company); Cold, and Bobby Gould in Hell (Brandeis University).  As an actor he has performed with Mabou Mines, The Classical Theatre of Harlem, The Flea Theater, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and the Bay Street Theater.  He is a company member of Classical Theatre of Harlem and of the Bats, the resident company of The Flea.

Christopher McElroen and Alfred Preisser are Co-Founders of the Classical Theatre of Harlem, and creators of the Classical Theatre of Harlem Future Classics Program, geared to support playwrights of color.
