Nicu's Spoon is pleased to announce their production of NO NIGGERS, NO JEWS, NO DOGS, directed by Stephanie Barton-Farcas. NO NIGGERS, NO JEWS, NO DOGS will play a three-week limited engagement at the Spoon Theater (38 West 38th Street, 5th Floor). Performances begin Wednesday, July 9 and continue through to Sunday, July 27. Opening Night is Saturday, July 12 (8 p.m.).

NO NIGGERS, NO JEWS, NO DOGS, is the story of a Black family in the South living under the rigors of racism. Rawl Cheeks is a loving family man devoted to his wife Mattie and children Joyce and Matoka. The Cheeks are a close-knit church going family struggling to make ends meet. In order to supplement their income they allow Yaveni Aarosohn, a sociologist, played by Jack Aaron, to do research on their family. Yaveni, a Jew, is gathering material, comparing the trials and tribulations faced by the Blacks under racism with that of the suffering of the Jews under racism, both in Europe and in America. (Oregan Coast News Signal)

Stephanie Barton-Farcas, Artistic Director of Nicu's Spoon and director of the upcoming piece feels "the brutal title of the recent play from a powerful drama by playwright John Henry Redwood reflects the bigotry of the Jim Crow South. We meet the Cheeks family and their central figure - their mother - and their friend Yaveni Aarohnson, struggling against punishing racism. It's a story of love and loss, of bonds forged and broken and an unflinching look at America's past."

The production features scenic design by GABRIELLE MONTGOMERY, costume design by S BARTON-FARCAS, and lighting design by STEVEN WOLF. NICK LINNEHAN is assistant director and JULIE BERMAN is the stage manager.

Tickets are $18 and are now available online at www.spoontheater.org or by calling 866-811-4111.

Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the Spoon Theater, 1 hour prior to showtime.
