MTWorks is pleased to announce UNDERWORLD VI: Broadway Understudies & MTWorkers will be held Monday, December 10th at 7pm at The Triad NYC (158 West 72nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam). Nick Cearley (All Shook Up, And Then I Wrote a Song About It) from the duo The Skivvies returns to host, joined by Katrina Yaukey (War Horse, Billy Elliot: The Musical, Company, Cabaret).

The annual benefit event headlines Broadway understudies performing their favorite songs and sharing their most intimate career changing stories. This year under the musical direction of Mat Eisenstein (Newsies), the skillful Broadway performers will take the stage with MTWorks’ very own troop of seasoned actors from previous main stage shows. This year the theme is performing songs that didn't quite "make the cut" on Broadway.

“What a show. All of them, the young and the not-so, all with stars in their eyes. But then, their audience was equally afflicted. It was worth it. Had a couple of stars in my own eyes”- Gene Paul, Theater Scene

UNDERWORLD VI will include Broadway understudies Nick Cartell (Scandalous, Jesus Christ Superstar), Elizabeth DeRosa (Mary Poppins), KJ Hippensteel (The Book of Mormon), Amanda Lea LaVergne (Annie, Grease) and Billie Wildrick (Scandalous). With MTWorkers Carol Hickey (Barrier Island), Heather Massie (Flashbacks), Maureen O’Boyle (The Oath, Good Lonely People), David Stallings (A Home Across the Ocean), and Susan Wallack (Good Lonely People).

All proceeds from Underworld VI go to funding MTWorks current 2012-13 Season, which includes the 2013 National NewBorn Festival (February 2013 at the City College of New York) and a new adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, adapted and directed by Glory Kadigan (March 2013 at the WorkShop Theater).

All tickets are $20 (+2 drink minimum, cash bar) and are available online at www.mtworks.org. Tickets may also be purchased in-person at The Triad NYC half hour prior to Showtime, cash only.
