On Monday, March 31, New York Theatre Barn will be presenting its next installment of its monthly show highlighting new composers, writers and artists, NYTB at the Duplex.

The first set of the evening will showcase the music of Jack Aaronson in a new show entitled No More Fire, which will feature music from Mr. Aaronson's previous musicals The Journey of Edgar Allen Poe, Nice Girls Don't Explode, and Crossing Over. The cast for No More Fire will include Mary Stout (Beauty and the Beast, Jane Eyre, My Favorite Year), Mick Bleyer, Adina Verson, Kevin Wanzor, Susanne Kobb, Amanda Adair Brown, Michael Zahler and Alanna Wilson.

The second set of the evening will feature Meredith Anderson performing the music of Jeff Thomson and Jordon Mann. Thomson and Mann are 2008 Jonathan Larson Award winners and were 2006/2007 Musical Theater Writing Fellows with the Dramatist Guild. They are currently working on the musical version of the film Pump Up the Volume (1990, Christian Slater) which features the song "When The Words Won't Come," which will be performed by Bryce Ryness (Legally Blonde).

Each month NYTB at the Duplex provides an audience and an outlet for new artists to explore and create, as well as gain feedback and support. NYTB at the Duplex is an arena that showcases up-and-coming songwriters and performers, and also merges new artists with highly-established writers and performers in the industry. We occasionally offer selections from our current projects as well as others we are in the process of developing. While the event lives in a cabaret atmosphere, expectations and ambitions. The evening is a fusion of cabaret, musical theatre and popular music and is ultimately a celebration of the artists involved. In addition, the event is designed to work as a networking tool between the artists involved and the artists who attend the event. It is New York Theatre Barn's continued mission to serve new artists and to support, develop and advance their work.

There will not be an April installment of NYTB at the Duplex as New York Theatre Barn prepares to celebrate their first anniversary with Untitled 2 which will take place at the Triad on April 14, and will feature new music from Ryan Scott Oliver (Alive at 10!), Joe Iconis (The Black Suits), and Adam Mathias and Brad Alexander (See Rock City and Other Destinations).

The series will continue in May when New York Theatre Barn will present a new cabaret from Kristen Seargent and Brad Bass (Wicked, B.R.A.T.T. Camp) presents part 2 of his cabaret, "A little bitty pissant country boy's cabaret… DAYBREAK."

The Duplex Cabaret Theater is located at 61 Christopher Street at Seventh Avenue. Tickets are $10 with a two-drink minimum and the show begins at 9:30pm. For reservations please call 212-255-5438.
