Award winning actor and writer Tim Realbuto (Ghostlight; "The Sopranos") will present his newest play 'Yes' as part of the 12th Annual Emerging Artists Theatre New Work series. 'Yes' will perform on Tuesday, June 2nd at 7:00 PM at the TADA! Theatre, 15 West 28th Street. All tickets are $ 10.
According to a recent casting breakdown: "Yes is a one-act, two-person drama about Patrick Ness (Realbuto), a fading star in his 30's who now teaches private acting lessons in NYC, and the relationship that forms with Jeremiah, his new teenage student that Patrick happened to see in a high school production of Romeo and Juliet. What begins as an innocent acting lesson turns into a sick game of cat and mouse, resulting in mental torture, sexual advances, and perhaps the destruction of two (possibly) innocent people."
Realbuto, who co-wrote and co-directed the hit Off-Broadway musical 'Ghostlight' alongside his writing partner Matthew Martin is flying solo for the first time ever with 'Yes.'
Realbuto is also holding two large auditions this week for his on-stage acting partner, who will be playing the pivotal role of Jeremiah. Actor MUST be 18+. Feel free to send headshots and resumes to Tim's assistant Mallory Schaus atMallory.RealbutoAssistant@gmail.com. The production team have received many more submissions than expected, so, if interested, send your material over immediately.
Mr. Realbuto is most known for his hugely successful solo shows Alone (With Plenty of Help) at 54 Below and Wunderkind, an autobiographical piece created by and starring Realbuto, which toured NYC all last year at venues such as Joe's Pub, The Laurie Beechman, and Stage 72, selling out every time. Realbuto then toured Wunderkind across the country, making his final stop at The Venue in Orlando, Florida in late December 2014.
He is also well known for his numerous stage roles, including appearances on the New York stage in Hair, Finian's Rainbow, Romeo and Juliet, The Winter's Tale Project, Love's Labours Lost, and the Off-Broadway premiere of White Widow: The Musical. His countless film and television credits include the co-starring role of Jackson Pheiffer opposite Kevin Kline and Jesse Eisenberg in the Universal Pictures release The Emperor's Club, two seasons on Nickelodeon's "The Big Help" alongside Michelle Trachtenberg, and Jimmy on Season One of HBO's "The Sopranos."
