New Musical 'BUZZ, SON OF A BEE' Flies Into The Sargent Theatre This Spring

A special limited-engagement run of BUZZ...Son of a Bee, a new musical comedy spotlighting the actor's life is set to open March 24th at The Sargent Theatre.

The quest for a plot! The glamour of despair! A tale of love and honey... As eight individuals search to find a home in the theatre, they stumble upon a strange catalyst that weaves them all together...bees! A story full of heart perfect for all, BUZZ, Son of a Bee gently reminds us that a life in the theatre can sting you, but it can also be as sweet as honey.

Each of the eight performances will feature a different Bee Conservation Organization, which will receive a percentage of the box office-details and a list of organizations available on the website.

The cast features: Michael Citriniti*, Chris D'Amico, Nora Davis, Ariana Johns*, Evangeline Johns*, Richard Koons*, Perryn Pomatto* and Rick Roemer* (*appearing courtesy of AEA).

BUZZ was honored by receiving the Golden Fleece Ltd. 22nd Annual Award for Music Theatre in progress, and is being presented by Buzz the Musical, LLC and VampinGo Productions.

Andrew Johns (Book) Over a hundred productions, from Off Broadway to dozens of Regional theatres across the country and Internationally. The Return of Herbert Bracewell and Fridays are both published by Dramatists Play Service, and he's a past recipient of an NEA Playwrighting Grant.

Darryl Curry (Music) Works include: Music for the 20th Anniversary production in NY of The Elephant Man, The 46th Street Mass (Theatre at St. Clement's), and the sung ballet My Shadow (Staten Island Ballet). Other works include the musicals Quitters, Mesmerized, The Elephant Piece, George Q and DorIan Gray.

Ariana Johns (Lyrics) Works produced in NYC, L.A., and regionally include Moonbite...a montage of radiant lunacy (Woodstock Fringe Festival, Actor's Art Theatre in L.A.) and Vampingo...a comedy with bite (NY International Fringe) Contributing member: Musical Theatre Factory, MotherLine Story Project.

Performances run March 23rd-April 2nd, playing Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Monday at 8PM; Sunday, March 26th at 5:00PM & Sunday, April 2nd at 3:00PM. (3/23: preview; 3/24: Opening Night).
