The Navigators Theatre Company was created in 2014 with a mission to produce new Science Fiction and inspired theater. The company seeks to create theatre that departs from the traditional theater-going experience by engaging new audiences, realizing new and daring realities, and expanding the boundaries of the traditional theatrical medium. Last year, The Navigators produced eight new ten minute plays, along with readings of two new full length plays, A Perfect Robot by Sarah Saltwick and Still, Quiet, by Emily Dendinger.

This year, The Navigators are taking on even more sci-fi material, and will be producing ten ten-minute plays including, Deb and Joan by Isaac Rathbone, Just One Day by Emily Dendinger, PARADOXYSM by JorDan Henry, Now or Later by Catherine Shook, The Chair by Russell Nichols, The Collector by Robin Ellen Brooks, Love, Almost Forever by David Vazdauskas, The Future Has an Ancient Heart by Eric Eberwein, Once Upon a Time on the Surface of Mars by Adam Esquenazi Douglas, and Here, It's Color by company member Matt Barbot. In addition to the ten-minute plays, the series will also include readings of two one-act plays, Ghosts by Elford Alley, and Binary Care by Ryan Oliveira, as well as two new full-length plays, Shelter by Jack Horton Gilbert, and Birth by Tom Arthur Davis.

The LIFT OFF NEW PLAY SERIES will take place at The Producer's Club in the Grand Theatre on Friday August 19th at 7:30pm, Saturday August 20th at 7:30pm, and Sunday August 21st at 2:00pm. Please check the Navigators Website for specific event schedules. www.navigatorstheater.com.

Tickets can be purchased for $5 online or with cash at the door. A $10 donation also suggested, in order to help The Navigators Theatre Company continue their journey as one of the only exclusively Science Fiction Theater Companies in the country!
