Parental Guidance Suggested - A Comedic Musical About The Chaos Of Working At A Daycare - For Minimum Wage

Children are a joy... right?

Not to Irene, the daycare teacher's assistant at the center of the comedic musical, Parental Guidance Suggested (An Unfortunately True Musical Dramedy).

Parental Guidance Suggested deals with the stressful workday at a daycare from the perspective of Irene, the teacher's assistant who does the dirty work of the job: cleaning, caring for the chaotic kids (played by adult actors), diaper changing, toilet training, the lead teacher's constant criticism, food preparation, and more cleaning - all for minimum wage.

Parental Guidance Suggested is part of the NY Winterfest Festival at the Hudson Guild Theatre. Performances are on January 2nd at 9pm, January 4th at 9pm and January 7th at 1pm.

Irene Hernandez is an actress, playwright, director, producer, singer, designing artisan, teaching artist and poet. The daughter of Cuban immigrants, Hernandez is fluent in Spanish. Additionally, she is also the artistic director of Dancing Frog Theater Company in NYC. Irene graduated from Montclair State University with a BFA in Acting.

Irene was inspired to create (as well as direct & act in) Parental Guidance Suggested from her personal experiences working at a particularly difficult daycare and wanted to create an entertaining and relatable comedy from her unpleasant memories.
