On Monday, August 25, New York Theatre Barn will be presenting its latest installment of its monthly show highlighting new composers, writers and artists, NYTB at the Duplex.

The evening will begin with the theatre songs of the writing team of William Squire and Jeffrey Lodin (Route 66, Doug Live!, Rebels 1775, 100 Years Into The Heart, Top of the Heap, Blindsided by a Diaper), in their new revue, Let's Make a Night Of It. Squire and Lodin's presentation will be directed by B.T. McNicholl and will feature the talents of Charma Bonanno (I Love You. You're Perfect. Now Change, Forbidden Broadway), David Bonanno (The Light In The Piazza), Marcus Neville (The Full Monty, City of Angels), and Deborah Tranelli (television's Dallas)

New York Theatre Barn will then present Love Killer, the music of composer and lyricist Tony Asaro. Love Killer, with music direction by Kevin Cummines, will feature additional music by Ryan Scott Oliver (Alive at 10!, Richard Rodgers Award Winner), Rob Shapiro, Kevin Cummines, Vadim Feichner, and Will Aronson, and additional lyrics by Dan Collins (Wood, 2008 New York Musical Theatre festival selection). The cast will feature Pearl Sun (Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Seven, The Yellow Wood), Leonard Sullivan, Sarah Statler, Doug Jabara, Rich Silverstein and Dave Garry.

Each month NYTB at the Duplex provides an audience and an outlet for new artists to explore and create, as well as gain feedback and support. NYTB at the Duplex is an arena that showcases up-and-coming songwriters and performers, and also merges new artists with highly-established writers and performers in the industry. We occasionally offer selections from our current projects as well as others we are in the process of developing. While the event lives in a cabaret atmosphere, expectations and ambitions are high. The evening is a fusion of cabaret, musical theatre and popular music and is ultimately a celebration of the artists involved. In addition, the event is designed to work as a networking tool between the artists involved and the artists who attend the event. It is New York Theatre Barn's continued mission to serve new artists and to support, develop and advance their work.

New York Theatre Barn (David Rigler, Executive Artistic Director, Joe Barros, Producing Artistic Director) is a not-for-profit theater company dedicated to developing new work, promoting the advancement of the individual artist, developing and strengthening relationships in the theater community, and educating future generations of theatre professionals

The Duplex Cabaret Theater is located at 61 Christopher Street at Seventh Avenue. Tickets are $10 with a two-drink minimum and the show begins at 9:30pm. Reservations are necessary. For reservations please call 212-255-5438.
