In a three-day marathon performance that is part intergalactic jam session and part haunted house party, Emily Dickinson OUTER SPACE! explores the uncharted dimensions of Dickinson's poetry in search of what it means to be American, wild, and free. A performance event as vast as the cosmos, this is the second installment in The POP Trilogy from award-winning artist collective Theater Plastique (Gertrude Stein SAINTS!). Following a workshop performance at The Fury Factory Festival of Ensemble Theater in San Francisco in July 2014, Emily Dickinson OUTER SPACE returns to her native coast this September at The Bushwick Starr. Over the course of 72 continuous hours, the doors of the theater will remain open for a performance event featuring 88 singers, dancers, and musicians wherein Theater Plastique invites the vastness of Dickinson's poetry to again build a universe within a single room.

Emily Dickinson OUTER SPACE! features text adapted from the poems and letters of Emily Dickinson and original music written by the ensemble. Directed by Michelle Sutherland; produced by Jordan Harrison; scenic and costume design by Diego Montoya; video design by Kevan Loney; lighting design by Justin Keenan Miller; dramaturgy by Elisabeth Barnick and Emma McFarland.

Performances run at The Bushwick Starr theater: 207 Starr Street, Brooklyn, NY [between Irving and Wykcoff]. Via Subway take the L Train to Jefferson Street, exit at Starr Street, walk against traffic on Starr, and the theater is 3/4 of a block on the right. For detailed driving directions visit: www.thebushwickstarr.org/DIRECTIONS. Tickets are $15.00 for a one-time entrance and $30 for unlimited entry at: www.thebushwickstarr.org.
