92YTribeca is 92nd Street Y's downtown arts and culture venue in New York City. Opened in October 2008, 92YTribeca presents music, comedy, film, theater, talks, classes, family events, and Jewish community and holiday programs in a versatile, street-level, modern space at 200 Hudson Street. In addition to the mainstage and screening room, the venue houses an art gallery, lounge, bar, café, seminar and meeting rooms, and free Wi-Fi around the space. With programs developed by a professional curatorial team in partnership with staff, local artists and arts organizations, new-media companies, fellow presenters, and community and cause-based organizations, 92YTribeca aims to engage a diverse community of young people from around the New York area with smart, relevant programming that encourages participation and conversation. Behind the Music-al: Old Myths, New Twists explores how the next generation of musical theater composers is finding inspiration in the oldest of tales. How are new writers taking myths and fables and turning them into dynamic, relevant musicals? Can contemporary music play a role in telling an ancient story? Featuring composers Ryan Scott Oliver, Shaina Taub and Ewalt & Walker. Moderated by Lisa Lambert, Tony and Drama Desk Award winning composer of The Drowsy Chaperone.

Members of the cast of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Billy Elliot talk about what it's like to bring to life the story of a young man who stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a surprising talent that changes his life forever.

PENMANSHIP BOOKS RELEASE PARTY WITH VANESSA HIDARY
Celebrate the release of poet/actress/playwright Vanessa Hidary's first book, The Last Kaiser Roll in the Bodega, with a featured performance by Vanessa as well as readings and performances from a line-up of special guests. The Last Kaiser Roll in the Bodega includes Vanessa's signature poems, short stories and the full script of her nationally acclaimed one-woman show "Culture Bandit." A veteran poet and solo performer for over ten years, Vanessa draws inspiration for her work from issues of cultural identity, jilted love, hip-hop and more. This collection of acclaimed poetry, prose and theater is published by Mahogany Browne's imprint Penmanship Books and is sponsored by the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe.
