Composer-Lyricist-Bookwriter Mary Liz McNamara is currently working on Body and Soul based on the 2009 documentary by filmmaker Alice Elliott. Excerpts from Body and Soul were seen at New York Theater Barn in October 2014. Awards: 2013 Bistro Award for Songwriting, 2011 BMI Foundation Harrington Award for creative achievement in musical theater, two MAC awards and six ASCAP PLUS awards. Mary Liz is a frequent NYC performer, and her songs are performed by cabaret and musical theater artists across the country. She is a member of the BMI Musical Theater Workshop (as a composer/lyricist and a librettist), and about a million other performing arts unions and organizations. Her song "Bacon" was used in an episode of "So You Think You Can Dance."
In THE GOOD GIRL, a newly-dead mother finds herself in that great jazz club in the sky where, accompanied by a cool cat Bass Player, she watches her daughter Terry try to balance a jump-started love life and being the caregiver for her impossibly cantankerous father.

She is a 4 time MAC, and 2 time Bistro award winner for her appearances at Feinstein's and The Metropolitan Room. She is the first ever Nightlife Award Winner (2003, 2005-6 -finalist) and in 2007, the coveted Mable Mercer Award. MMTL, founded by Bick Goss as Musical Mondays, celebrates its 15th year presenting new musicals including Feeling Electric, which after a name change became the Pulitzer and Tony Winner Next to Normal. Other premieres include See Rock City and the upcoming It Shoulda Been You slated starring Tyne Daly and directed by David Hyde Pierce.
Two Time Tony Nominee and Prime Time Emmy Award Winner, Penny Fuller, equally at home in film, television, cabaret and Broadway, leads the cast Mary Liz McNamara's new original musical, The Good Girl. Ms. Fuller's Broadway credits include Neil Simon's The Dinner Party, Horton Foote's Dividing the Estate, Wendy Wasserstein's An American Daughter, Eve Harrington (Tony nomination) in the original production of Applause and as Sally Bowles in the long-running original production of Cabaret.
