What happens between the panels of a comic book? In the industry, they're known as "gutters" - the narrow white spaces between moments of frozen action. Gutter Space explores this nebulous world, where superhuman heroes confront eternal human questions like Who am I? What is the purpose of my existence? and Who might be willing to kiss me?

Performance Schedule:

Friday, June 3 at 7PM
Sunday, June 5 at 2PM
Tuesday, June 7 at 7PM
Thursday, June 9 at 9PM

In addition to Boynton and Kamine, the creative team includes Alexis Forte (Scenic and Costume Designer), Charles Forster (Lighting Designer), Jessica Pfeffer (Sound Designer), and Graham Stone (Composer).

Keith Boynton is a New York City-based playwright and filmmaker, and an MFA candidate in playwriting at Columbia University, under Charles L. Mee. His works include BOOKS AND WATER (produced at Amherst College), TRINITY (produced at the Abingdon Theatre, NYC), THE QUOTABLE ASSASSIN and WALLS (both produced at Altered Stages, NYC), and THE IMPROBABLE TRAGEDY OF DR. IVAN ROSHASHONNAVICH, which was performed at a benefit by Sam Waterston, Laura Linney, Liam Neeson, and Meryl Streep. The New York Times has called Keith "a talent worth watching," but they said some mean stuff too.

Benjamin Kamine is a New York-based director with roots in Los Angeles. Recent credits include BLOGOLOGUES: SEX, DRUGS AND INTERWEBS (Lively Productions); BOUNDARIES (Short Play Lab); THE GIFT HORSE (See Kay Theatre); SEASCAPE WITH SHARKS AND DANCER (See Kay Theatre, StageSceneLA Award for Outstanding Direction of a Comedy-Drama); and CHEESESTEAK LATKES (Moth Theatre). Ben is a Resident Director at the Jewish Plays Project and has been accepted into the 2011 Lincoln Center Directors Lab. Ben is also directing an upcoming reading of Keith Boynton's AFRICA. He can't seem to escape that man.
