Misunderstood: An Unrequited Love Storyis back by popular demand after a successful run at The Laurie Beechman Theatre in May.

This poignant and hilarious new show will play three performances at Don't Tell Mama August 9, 18, and 21 at 7:30 pm.

Living in New York is never easy. Follow Adam, a young Jewish man from Ohio as he plants roots in the city to find his two "bigs" in the Big Apple: Career and Love. Now times wouldn't be easy for Adam as he nearly escapes a serial stalker, finds Jesus on a bumper sticker, and eventually battles a serious coffee addiction. Follow Adam as he shares with us his scintillating stories, from a set bursting into flames mid-show during a summer stock performance, to Passover: The Musical, and the jungle of internet dating in New York. Join Adam as he strives to find love, seemingly...in all the wrong places.

"Misunderstood: An Unrequited Love Story is a universal story about the trials and tribulations of surviving in New York City" said director Will Barrios. "The story is told through Adam Fried's life as he shares with us his experiences that give us a glimpse of someone longing to be understood. It's a funny and poignant exploration of the ways we miscommunicate in relationships and try to bridge the gap between what we said, and what we should have said."

Adam Fried has a BA in Musical Theatre from Ball State University. NYC: Premiere of Desperate People, Headliners and Breadlines, and Love is On the Square. Regional: Original cast of Christmas.To.Come (Know Theatre of Cincinnati), Damn Yankees, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Grease! (Thunder Bay Theatre); Rocky Horror, Cats, Annie, and Jesus Christ Superstar with Gary Cherone (The Barn Theatre). Tours: Miss Nelson has a Field Day and Fish Face. Readings: Bridges: A New Musical.

Misunderstood: An Unrequited Love Storystars Adam Fried with direction by Will Barrios (Fordham University, Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School, Regional: I Remember You, Need, Godspell, Pippin); book by Patrick Caldwell, Adam Fried, and Will Barrios; musical direction by Peter Tinaglia with a score by some of today's most obscure and fresh composers.
