This is a cozy alternative black-box production of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. Tickets are available for purchase in advance for busy New Yorker who can't spend many hours in line, but who would still like to enjoy some Shakespeare on a midsummer night.
The lovers Lysander (Cammerron Baits) and Hermia (Paula Berwanger), being prohibited to marry each other, decide to run away from Athens to get married where the Athenian law will not affect them, but they get lost in the woods.
There they find Demetrius (Matt Benincasa) - the man to whom the Athenian law dictates Hermia should marry - and Helena (Eliza Vann), Hermia's closest friend who is in love with Demetrius and who told him about the lovers's escape.
That same night, Oberon (Babak Meraki Parsiyan) and Titania (Honey St. Dennis) - King and Queen of the Fairies - are having a quarrel. Oberon relates to the four lost Athenian lovers and tells his servant, Puck (Jenna Scarlet), to put a love spell on Demetrius to make him fall in love with Helena.
Puck accidentally puts the spell on Lysander, making him fall in love with Helena and leave Hermia. But Oberon discovers Puck's mistake, and makes her fix it by putting the spell on Demetrius and reversing the one that had been put on Lysander.
In the morning, when the four lovers are found by the Athenian nobility, Demetrius no longer wants to claim his right over Hermia and wants to marry Helena. Therefore the Duke, Theseus (Nico Bourgeais), invites the two couples to be wedded in the same party in which he will wed Hippolyta (Ortal Arias), ignoring the protests from Egeus (Aimee Thrasher) - Hermia's mother.
The triple wedding is celebrated with a play performed by the workers Quince (Melissa Sturges), Bottom (Kyle Primack), Starveling (Charlie Junkins), Snout (James McCormack), Snug (Lëslie Ëlle) and Flute (Travis Schweiger).
