After an acclaimed premiere in San Diego, Wonderlist Productions and Neighborhood Productions presents the New York Premiere of BUREAU OF MISSING PERSONS by award-winning playwright Lila Rose Kaplan. Directed by Sarah Rasmussen, the production begins previews begin tonight, June 14 at New York Theatre Workshop's 4th Street Theater. Opening is slated for June 19.

A piece of chalk. Big band music. A pocketful of leaves. These clues lead Angela on a quest from her apartment on the Upper West Side to a cave in Moscow to search for someone who is missing. Inspired by the stories of Argentinian author Jorge Luis Borges, BUREAU OF MISSING PERSONS is a magical tale that explores how we heal.

BUREAU OF MISSING PERSONS stars Maren Bush (Rattlestick's A Summer Day at Cherry Lane), Lucy DeVito (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia with Danny DeVito / Love, Loss, and What I Wore opposite Rhea Perlman), Neimah Djourabchi, Ryan McCarthy (Roundabout's After Miss Julie) and Pamela Shaw (In Masks Outrageous and Austere) with set & costumes by Moira Clinton, lighting by Porsche McGovern, and sound by Sam Kusnetz.

Lila Rose Kaplan's plays include We All Fall Down, Home of the Brave, 100 Planes, Entangled, Wildflower, and Tink. Her plays have been produced by Second Stage, La Jolla Playhouse, The Old Vic, and Perishable Theatre, among others. Her plays have been developed by Arena Stage, Center Theatre Group, The Kennedy Center, Ensemble Studio Theatre, New Dramatists, PlayPenn, and The Lark. Her awards include The National Science Award in Playwriting from The Kennedy Center, The International Women's Playwriting Award, The Shank Playwriting Fellowship, a Sloan Foundation Fellowship, and the I.J. Kapstein Award in Playwriting. She belongs to the Dramatists Guild of America, The Playwrights Center, and is a founding member of The Playwrights Union in Los Angeles. www.lilarose.org

Sarah Rasmussen is a 2011 Princess Grace Award recipient. She has directed and/or developed new work at theaters including New York Theater Workshop, La Jolla Playhouse, Arena Stage, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Hangar Theater, Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, Culture Project, PlayPenn, Women's Project Theater, The Lark and Playwrights' Center. Recent credits include The Ballad of 223 & 224 and Laura Jacqmin's Hero Dad (Humana Festival, Actor's Theater of Louisville), Basil Kremindahl's Orange Julius (the O'Neill), and assistant directing In The Next Room (Broadway). Neighborhood Productions was founded in 2010 by Dorit Avganim and Amanda Feldman with a mission to produce affordable, effective, and creative productions in all five boroughs. Past productions include The Debate Society's Blood Play at The Bushwick Starr and Under the Radar, Elephant Room at St. Ann's Warehouse, The Play About My Dad at 59E59, Desiree Burch's Tar Baby at DR2, Home/Sick at The Living Theater, Tommy Smith's The Wife at Access Theater, and The Deepest Play Ever at The New Ohio Theater.

BUREAU OF MISSING PERSONS runs tonight, June 14 - 29 on the following schedule: Monday - Friday at 7:30pm and Saturday at 2pm & 7:30pm. (Please note: There is no performance on June 26.)
