Little Foxes Theatre Company Presents A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM Image

Little Foxes Theatre Company presents its debut production, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, this July.

Little Foxes Theatre Company was founded by Molly Spain and is dedicated to the history and preservation of theatre while creating new and exciting works.

Shakespeare's wittily funny and romantic comedy explores the chaos that ensues when four young lovers flee Athens for the forest, where the fairy king Oberon and his servant Puck use a love potion to try to fix the humans' love problems and get revenge on the fairy queen. Meanwhile, a group of workers use the forest to rehearse a play, with hilarious results.

The production, which is directed by Molly Spain, transfers the setting to suburban America, juxtaposing privileged Athenian lovers Hermia, Helena, Lysander and Demetrius (played by Melody Portnoy, Sophie Max, Cassidy Layton and Nathan David Smith respectively) with the fairies Oberon (Sam Wiegers), Titania (Devon Chandler) and Puck (Emmy Carlyle Albritton) as street dwellers, controlling everything behind the scenes. The Mechanicals will be played by Cameron Moser, Michelle Siracusa, Marth Brown, Aria Publicover, Hali Free and Nora Lempriere. The costume design is by Jaime Torres, lighting design by Patrick Horn and stage manager is Mia Katz.

This exciting production will be at Under St Marks Theatre on July 11th-14th at 7pm and July 15th at 2pm. The theatre is located at 94 St Marks Place, New York 10009. Tickets will be available on the door for $15, or $10 for students.
