Hit Latino play, La Luz De Un Cigarrillo (The Light Of A Cigarette), written and directed by award-winning Dominican playwright Marco Antonio Rodriguez (HOLA and ACE award for best play and best director), returns by popular demand this September for a two week limited engagement at Lehman Stages' Studio Theater in the Bronx.
La Luz De Un Cigarrillo is performed in Spanish with English supertitles and stars Susanna Guzman (HOLA award for best actress), Teresa Yenque (HOLA and ACE lifetime achievement awards, Broadway's A Streetcar Named Desire with Natasha Richardson), Arisleyda Lombert (HOLA and ACE award for best supporting actress) and Ismael Cruz Córdova (HOLA and ACE award for best supporting actor and currently on CBS' The Good Wife and in upcoming films White Alligator and Langston's).
A mother's love knows no boundaries...Over the course of two evenings, mother and son, two estranged generations of Dominicans living in mid-town Manhattan, attempt to rekindle the love and appreciation for each other and their roots; but unexpectedly revealed intimate and taboo secrets threaten to destroy an already thin bond. For mature audiences only.
Performances run tonight, September 6-16th in Spanish with English supertitles, Thursdays-Saturdays, 8pm. Sundays, 4pm.
