Seymour, a washed-up playwright with one forgotten hit to his name, lands a gig teaching a writers' workshop. His students are a motley collection of dreamers and amateurs, young and old. As the weeks go by, the students' plays begin to blur the line between truth and fiction, imperiling the workshop's delicate balance. In the Room uncovers the hopeless and heroic that exists between the lines, and off the page.
The cast will feature Wheelhouse Theater co-founder Matt Harrington* (Richard III and Twelfth Night at the Belasco Theatre; Mr. Wormwood in Matilda The Musical), Suzy Jane Hunt* (Alice in "The Americans"), Robert Karma Robinson* (Kansas City Swing at Crossroads Theatre), Jacob Perkins* (The Few at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater), Chelsea Melone (Roadkill, FringeNYC 2016), Susan Neuffer (Lend Me a Tenor at Millbrook Playhouse), and Reuben Barsky (The Bad and the Better with The Amoralists) with Lighting Design by Lauren Duffie, Costume Design by Kristina Makowski, Sound Design by Toby Jaguar Algya, and Production Stage Manager Sarah Haber. *Appearing courtesy of the Actors' Equity Association.

WHEELHOUSE THEATER COMPANY officially launched this past year with back-to-back, critically acclaimed productions of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar and Romeo and Juliet (Davenport Theater). The Wheelhouse prides itself on its use of ensemble, which proves to deepen the actor's sense of trust and abandon on stage, so the audience can relish in the risks that are being taken in the interest of telling bold stories. Born from a shared enthusiasm for playful collaboration while studying together at NYU's Graduate Acting Program, the Wheelhouse is a company of theater artists committed to producing joyful, transformative and highly physical productions. www.wheelhousetheater.com
