The ambitious New York director known for her realistic and unapologetic takes on family and relationship dramas will bring in two diverse new works in on the same day ... one mile apart.

Her play, ELLEN AND TROY AND ELOISE by Warren Paul Glover, stars Beth Newbery, Lily Marceau, and Joshua Rugiano. This clever comedy depicts a rocky romance - and its impending end - between a young man and his girl friend ... and her mother! ELLEN AND TROY AND ELOISE is a play about relationships; between man & woman and mother & daughter. While this one-act comedy hasn't been performed before in this format, its original full length version entitled Rebound, has been shortlisted for the 2017 programme of the Darlinghurst Theatre Co in Sydney, Australia. This version performs Wed 7/20, 8:45pm; Fri 7/22, 7:00pm; Sun 7/24, 2:45pm at the Workshop's Jewel box, 312 W. 36th Street as part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival.

Meanwhile... Over on 54th Street, Laurie returns to her usual haunt with one of her usual playwright-colleagues and one of her repertory of actors. MIRRORS, a gritty New York drama featuring Ken Coughlin as Mickey "Mirrors" Miraglia will open the 41st Season of American Theatre of Actors at 314 W 54th St, New York City. The playwright, Steve Silver, won the Jean Dalrymple Award twice for Partners and The Prince of Hell's Kitchen - directed by Laurie Rae Waugh. And most recently, he won the ATA Award for Best Playwright of 2015 while Laurie won the ATA Award Best Director, Drama 2015, both for A Spanish Harlem Story.

Laurie's entrance in the arts was quite auspicious: she served as stage manager for the Broadway Cares July 4, 1987 performance benefiting STAMP OUT AIDS dedicated to Michael Bennett. She is currently in negotiations to serve as a repertory director for Robert Liebowitz' series of plays: IN THE BOROUGHS, this fall.

This play will run Wednesday to Saturday July 20-23 @ 8pm and Sunday July 24 @3pm; and Wednesday to Saturday July 27-30 @8pm and Sunday July 31 @ 3pm. Call for tickets: (212) 581-3044
