"iyouuswe" (I-You-Us-We) was born from an exciting collaboration between WHITE WAVE's artistic director, Young Soon Kim and its nine dazzling dancers over the past 12 months. The piece - exhilarating, provocative and shy -- scored to original music by longtime collaborator Ki Young, a "borderless musician," is an uninterrupted 65-minute journey that will challenge us to examine who we are and how we relate to ourselves, and to each other. It's a story about developing meaningful relationships in which we struggle to seek a sense of 'i' as part of a 'we.'
"iyouuswe" reunites WHITE WAVE Dance with composer/musician Ki Young, dramaturg James Leverett, and lighting designer Yuriy Nayer. Expressly created for the dancers (Anton Martynov, Guanglei Hui, Cara Seymour, Tsai Hsi Hung, Mikelle Rindflish, Mark Willis, Casey LaVres, James Johnson, Juhwan Hwang), this piece will take their creative energies to new heights, transforming "iyouuswe" into a multi-dimensional 'tour-de-force.'
"iyouuswe" runs May 18th - 21st, Thursday - Friday at 7:00 PM and Sunday at 4:00 PM. LaMaMa Ellen Stewart Theatre is located at 66 East 4th Street (2nd Floor), New York, NY 10003.Tickets are $25/$20 (Students/Seniors). Gala (May 19th) starting at $75.
