La MaMa has announced that its facilities and theatres will re-open this week after having been closed due to Hurricane Sandy, bringing some much needed life, art and people power back to the East Village neighborhood La MaMa has called home for 50 years. Starting today, La MaMa Galleria (6 E. 1 St.) re-opens its exhibit BRAD GREENWOOD/eat the wolfe. The exhibit is on view each day from 1 to 7:30 p.m. through November 11.

Following is a list of productions that will re-light La MaMa's stages in the week ahead:

SOULOGRAPHIE: OUR GENOCIDES
A Commemorative Performance Cycle and Discussions by Theatres and Artists from the U.S., Poland and Uganda
November 8-18 at Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E. 4 St.)

SOULOGRAPHIE is described as a 'durational performance event' featuring 17 plays (all written by Erik Ehn) and conversations that look at 20th century America from the point-of-view of its relationship to genocides in the U.S. (Tulsa Race Riot), East Africa (Rwanda, Uganda) and Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador). Individual productions from throughout the U.S., Poland and Uganda converge for SOULOGRAPHIE. *The performance schedule includes a 24-hour marathon of all 17 plays.

PORT OUT, STARBOARD HOME
A New York premiere written by Sheila Callaghan
Performed by foolsFURY
Directed by Ben Yalom
November 8-25 at La MaMa's First Floor Theatre (74A E. 4 St.)

PORT OUT, STARBOARD HOME is described as follows: Climb aboard the luxury cruise ship Crown of the Seas, and join an eclectic group of seekers as they strive for enlightenment. Amidst the sensual decadence of bars, discos, and gluttonous buffets, they un-tether themselves from the baggage of their everyday lives and become entangled in a strange, disturbing ritual. Sit right back and take a surreal journey the folks at Princess Cruises never imagined in their wildest dreams. Previous foolsFURY productions include MONSTER IN THE DARK, BIG LOVE, VALPARAISO and ATTEMPTS ON HER LIFE.

DIE: ROLL TO PROCEED
Written by Joe Kurtz
Directed by Christian De Gre
Developed by Mind The Art Entertainment in association with Rising Art A.C.
Mexico City
November 9-18 in The Club at 74A E. 4 St.

An existential comedy, DIE: ROLL TO PROCEED imagines a world unencumbered by the stress of decision-making in which two roommates let the role of a die make decisions for them. With 72 possible endings, all of which are orchestrated by the audience, theatre-goers won't see the same show twice. Their fate. Your hands…Roll the DIE.

One of the world's leading experimental theatres, La MaMa celebrates its 51st season this season. Mia Yoo is Artistic Director.

La MaMa is a remarkable arts institution with a world-wide reputation for producing daring work in theater, dance, performance art, and music.
