LAByrinth Theater Company (Co-Artistic Directors Stephen Adly Guirgis, Mimi O'Donnell, Yul Vázquez and Managing Director, Danny Feldman), Off-Broadway's home of exhilarating and incendiary theater, is accepting applications for their annual Summer Intensive Ensemble. The one-week workshop retreat is scheduled from June 6-12, 2011 at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.

LAByrinth's Summer Intensive Ensemble is an annual residential week of workshops and new play development for emerging artists, combining LAB's ensemble spirit with inspirational, multi-disciplinary workshops. The Intensive Ensemble allows emerging artists to push their boundaries, create their own work, to be part of a collaborative ensemble, and to generate vital new theater. LAByrinth's current Broadway production of The Motherf**ker With The Hat was one of the plays previously read at the Intensive Ensemble. Workshops will include sessions on speech and voice, body, acting, movement, scene study, writing, directing, designing, and producing. Workshops are taught by LAByrinth Company Members and Guest Artists that will include David Anzuelo, Andrea Ciannavei, David Deblinger, Charles Goforth, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Scott Hudson, Scott Illingworth, Padraic Lillis, Narelle Sissons, and more. Past guest artists have included Paul Calderon, Maggie Flannigan, John Ortiz, Daphne Rubin Vega and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

"To be away from home, and away from everything, with a group of fellow artists, is always one of the very best, most fulfilling, and inspiring highlights of my year. Any year. And every year."said LAB Co-Artistic Director & Intensive Ensemble Instructor Stephen Adly Guirgis.

Many of the participants are actors, but the Ensemble is also intended for writers, directors, designers, and artists of all backgrounds who seek to explore, expand and (re)discover their multi-disciplinary theater skills. LAByrinth welcomes applicants of any age, race, color, sexuality, national or ethnic origin, or religious background.

The cost for the one-week Summer Intensive Ensemble is $1,950 which includes tuition, accommodation (double occupancy), three meals a day, and round trip transportation between NYC and Bard College (accessible to disabled students). Registrants must be over 21. Applications are now being accepted with ongoing interviews beginning April 18th. For additional information, please visit the website at www.labtheater.org
