ADÁN, played by Jerry Soto, and EVA by Edna Lee Figueroa, have certain "problems" in their marriage. Here comes Dr. Appelstein, performed by Edmi De Jesús, to the rescue who assures them that with her THERAPY their marriage issues will disappear forever with some very peculiar methods.

LA TERAPIA (a libidinous comedy) by Txemi Parra will have its last performance on Monday April 3rd, 2017 as part of Micro Theater New York at Teatro SEA. Four 20-minute plays running simultaneously, with five performances each, where the audience gets to choose between watching all the plays throughout the night, which runs between 8-11pm, or to watch one or two or three. (LA TERAPIA with English translation, a second play is performed in English, and two others are in Spanish with no translation).

ArteNY continues, "The dynamics of the staging, masterfully under the baton of Gerardo Gudiño, required silence between its protagonists and Gudiño knew how to direct them so well that the silence was heard shouting in the facial gestures and body language of Figueroa, Soto and De Jesús."

Txemi Parra is a Basque scriptwriter and actor, "his comedy is witty, subtle and very Spanish. We decided to 'speak in Puerto Rican' to make it closer to the actors." This is the third play that Gerardo Gudiño directs in NYC having more directing credits in Córdoba, Argentina where he's from. The director asked them to work from the naturalness of themselves creating precise, minimal and assertive movements. Nothing was left to chance. He knew exactly what he could expect from the cast, all ex alumni from the University of Puerto Rico.

Figueroa is a stage, film and TV (SAG-AFTRA) actress and theater producer. She's a Repertorio Español and PopUP Theatrics company member, Teatro Círculo and Boundless Theatre associate artist and a recurring actress in The Internationalists and Working Theater's productions. She has been awarded for her performances in Theater and Film by the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA), Association of Latin Entertainment Critics of New York (ACE), and by Independent Theatre Artists (ATI). www.ednaleefigueroa.com

Soto is a film, TV and stage actor. Trained with Malayerba in Ecuador and Yuyachkani in Perú. He's a
company member of Repertorio Español, had his NY debut with Teatro Círculo in 2009, and has worked
with GALA Hispanic Theatre (Washington, DC) and Acción Sur (Spain). He's also a commentator in WWE
Experience.

De Jesús, a SAG-AFTRA actress, had performed from regional plays to independent movies
and nationwide commercials. Studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York and RADA in London
during a special Summer program and is the Artistic Director and Producer of Producciones El Barrio.

"This is our last installment of LA TERAPIA." - Edna Lee commented - "The other two nights (February 6th and March 6th) it was such a feat not to laugh when we heard the audience reacting to what we said and to what we didn't say. We had to keep a straight face. It was a painfully awesome experience." There's seem to be a consensus about that when the before mentioned review said "...was enough for oneself to shamelessly laugh out loud."
