Producer Bridget Regan, who has starred as Rose on CW's "Jane the Virgin" & Dottie Underwood on Marvel's "Agent Carter" and is presenting CAMP WANATACHI: In Concert (an official selection of the 2017 New York Musical Festival), is proud to announce the full cast and creative team of production playing The Green Room 42 @ YOTEL (570 10th Ave.), July 30-August 1st.
CAMP WANATACHI: In Concert, a new electro-musical about sex, god and summer camp, has a book by Bekah Brunstetter (NBC's "This Is Us", OORAH!) & Natalie Elizabeth Weiss (World-renown DJ, Unicornicopia) , music/lyrics by Natalie Elizabeth Weiss and beats by Machinedrum (beat-maker for Kayne West, Solange Knowles). The show will star both Broadway and TV vets: Krystina Alabado (American Psycho, American Idiot, Lazarus), Sami Gayle (CBS's "Blue Bloods", Gypsy with Patty LuPone), Billy Lewis Jr. (FOX's "Glee"), Remy Zaken (Spring Awakening), Marissa O'Donnell (Shrek, Annie), Keaton Whittaker (A Little Night Music), Hannah DelMonte (Fiddler on the Roof) and Liz Bryne (Baby It's You!).
Helmed under the direction of Mia Walker (Waitress, Porgy and Bess), CAMP WANATACHI: In Concert has musical direction by Emily Marshall (Nat'l tours A Chorus Line, We Will Rock You), orchestrations by Conrad Winslow (Rufus Wainwright, Alarm Will Sound) and choreography by Vanessa Walters (Fischerspooner).
CAMP WANATACHI: In Concert explores two girls' journey of sexual discovery within the unlikely setting of an all-female Christian summer camp. Spirit-soaked and hormone-charged, this thrilling piece of theater challenges preconceptions about the relationship between sex and religion, and in doing so, imparts an essential truth: "There is no fear in love."
CAMP WANATACHI: In Concert was previously presented at the New York Fringe Festival as a workshop, at 3LD ART & Technology Center as a concert performance and at La Mama ETC as a fully stated performance. In these previous incarnations, the show has been hailed as "Quite the treat... a set that rivaled many Broadway stages and talent that should be on Broadway right now. The show also introduced the audience to a brand-new sound in musical theatre." (Broadwayworld.com). Now more audiences will get to see this as it plays at NYMF in concert form.
CAMP WANATACHI: In Concert will play at The Green Room 42 @ YOTEL (570 10th Avenue). The following is the production schedule:
