Stuart Films, LLC and Browntown Entertainment Inc. in conjunction with Fabrice J. Armand Inc. and Michaela Productions, LLC will present the Theatrical Production ‘BOX' written by Fred Shahadi and directed by Marishka Phillips.

‘BOX' starring Kevin Brown of the Emmy Award Winning '30 Rock' and Lawrence Saint-Victor, formally Remy of CBS' ‘Guiding Light' is a story about four Haitian men who stow away aboard an industrial ocean liner seeking freedom by sealing themselves inside a large coffee container. The ghost of Henry ‘BOX' Brown, a former slave who literally mailed himself to freedom in 1848, visits them. This play explores one's desire for freedom and their determination to achieve it. Rounding out the cast of ‘BOX' is Rashad Edwards, Ayinde Howell and Brandon Alexander as ‘BOX'

Fred Shahadi is an award-winning playwright from Philadelphia, PA. ‘BOX' had a sold out run in the New York International Fringe Festival, as well as staged readings at theatre companies in Montclair NJ, Fort Worth, Texas and New York City. He is the two time consecutive winner of the Heck Rabi Dramatic Play award for his plays BRIGANTINE and SUPETRAIN both of which were awarded productions in Detroit. Fred's play about the John Adams' Inauguration was performed for President Clinton, former President's Carter, Ford, Bush Sr, and former First Lady Nancy Reagan in 1996 at Philadelphia's Congress Hall. In addition to his stage plays, he has written dozens of screen and teleplays.
