"KEEP IT SHORT," an evening of three short plays and a number of musical performances showcasing the talents of 11 young performers blossoming in the Big Apple, will be presented at The Cutting Room, 19 West 24th Street (between Broadway and 6th Avenue), on Monday, April 28, from 7 to 10 PM. The event is being produced by The Plastic Flamingo Theatre Company and Stiletto Project, New York-based theatre companies started by, and featuring, alumni (1997 through 2007) of the University of Miami theatre program with the mission of promoting new talent in the city.

There is a $10 cover charge plus a $10 food and drink minimum. Reservations can be made by visiting www.plasticflamingo.org or http://www.theatermania.com/content/show.cfm/show/143117

The program, hosted by Brian Johnson, will include three ten-minute plays: Helen's Hiccup by Ross Anthony Evans and Erin Austin, directed by Diane Zelenka, and starring Sara Andreas and Jonathan White; Bubbly Babe by Ross Anthony Evans and Erin Austin, co-directed by Ross Evans and Anna Megan Becker, and starring Corinne Palermo, Xavier Cano and Shannon Krowicki; and Jello Shots by Ross Anthony Evans and Erin Austin, directed by Jason Weiss, and starring Joshua Henry (currently in Broadway's "In The Heights"), Chris Harbur and Rachel Feldman.

The musical performances will feature: singer/songwriter/guitarist Brad Standley; singer/actress Lauren Palermo; singer Joline Mujica, who will perform "If Only," from the Broadway-bound musical Angels; and Corinne Palermo and Joshua Henry, who will sing "One True Friend," from Angels.

Robert R. Blume, President of Blume Media Group LTD, and Executive Producer of the annual Drama Desk Awards, is Consulting Producer for the event. This is the first collaboration of Stiletto Project and Plastic Flamingo. The two companies were brought together by their desire to promote fresh and exciting talent in New York City.

The Plastic Flamingo Theatre Company was founded in 2007 in Miami, Florida. In October of the same year, the company moved to New York City, and has since produced the debut of Apocalyptic Revelations, as well as a world premiere reading of MayDay. Plastic Flamingo strives to find the potential of the newest generation of New York artists, creating theatre that epitomizes a youthful vitality while toying with theatrical tradition. The company hopes to capture the essence of its contemporaries with humor, heart, and unapologetic bad taste. The company was founded by University of Miami graduates Ross Anthony Evans, Erin Austin and Diane Zelenka

Stiletto Project, a burgeoning female-led production company based in New York City, provides an outlet to give new playwrights, composers, directors, performers, et al, the opportunity to explore their works and expose their talents to the community at large. It was at a dinner meeting that the name Stiletto Project was born: using the stiletto heel as a symbol of power, strength, and femininity. It also makes the statement that to truly know a woman is to walk 10 New York City blocks in her stilettos. Hence, our motto - "High heels, higher standards." Corinne Palermo, a graduate of the University of Miami, started this company with Dana Iannuzzi. The company has produced multiple cabaret shows and participated in 2007's "V-Day" performing The Vagina Monologues at the Looking Glass Theatre.
