Julie Halston to Host IT Awards at New World Stages Tonight

Comedic actress Julie Halston hosts the 2009 IT Awards, which honor the best of Off-Off Broadway, tonight at New World Stages at 7:00pm.

The evening is directed by Blake Lawrence and written by Matt Freeman. The presenters include: Jackie Hoffman (Addams Family, Xanadu), playwright Nilo Cruz (Bicycle Country), playwright John Patrick Shanley (Doubt, "Moonstruck"), composer Elizabeth Swados (Runaways, Kasper Hauser), composer Andrew Lippa (Addams Family, The Wild Party), choreographer Casey Nicholaw (Drowsy Chaperone), actor and writer Charles Busch (Third Story, Allergist's Wife), director Austin Pendleton (Uncle Vanya), performance artist Taylor Mac (The Lily's Revenge), as well as solo artist James Scruggs, lighting designer Beverly Emmons, Magie Dominic and Bob Dahdah of Caffe Cino, Astoria Performing Arts Center artistic director Tom Wojtunik and executive director Taryn Drongowski, and Department of Cultural Affairs commissioner Kate D. Levin.
